The Swedish Bar Association’s Consumer Disputes Committee
The Swedish Bar Association has established a Consumer Disputes Committee with the task of reviewing disputes between consumers and law firms. The committee examines disputes between a consumer and a law firm regarding services provided by the law firm to the consumer.
If the client is dissatisfied with the service provided by the lawyer, the client should contact the lawyer in writing to discuss the matter and attempt to reach a mutually agreed solution.
If it is not possible to reach a mutual agreement, the lawyer is obliged to inform the client about the possibility of having the matter reviewed by the Swedish Bar Association’s Consumer Disputes Committee. In addition, a lawyer is required to participate in the committee’s review if a mutual agreement cannot be reached.
